Tilda Swinton meets Olivier Saillard for a fashion performance!
Entitled Eternity Dress, Swinton’s latest outing continues a close partnership with the fashion curator Olivier Saillard, whose recent achievements include the reopening of Paris’s Palais Galliera fashion museum and a Roger Vivier retrospective at the nearby Palais de Tokyo. That’s where, in 2012, the pair presented The Impossible Wardrobe, their first collaboration, which brought Swinton up close and personal with centuries-worth of archival garments from the Galliera’s vaults. A film created by artistKaterina Jebb, which saw Swinton discovering the museum’s archives in a white calico robe, prefaced the live repetition.Eternity Dress proposes a new angle to Swinton and Saillard’s historical dialogue, this time unveiling the delicate and traditional process of dress-making to the public.
